Churton Street Project Update

This week workers completed an Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant handicapped access ramp at the northwest corner of the intersection of West King and Churton streets. Major construction for Churton Street access improvements has been completed for the area between West King Street and the Mercantile Center. Cemetery Committee Regular Meeting

The Cemetery Committee will meet at 9 a.m. on Aug. 24, 2017 at the Town Barn Downstairs Boardroom. The agenda includes discussion of draft recommendations and map updates for the Margaret Lane Cemetery master plan. Additionally, members will discuss Town Cemetery maintenance orders and the possibility of planting and future maintenance of cradle graves. The Cemetery Committee is responsible for making recommendations regarding the preservation and maintenance of town-maintained cemeteries including Margaret Lane Cemetery, the Old Town Cemetery and the Town Cemetery.

A rail station in central Hillsborough was included in the N.C. Department of Transportation’s recently approved 2018-2027 State Transportation Improvement Program. Several Hillsborough projects are included in the N.C. Department of Transportation’s recently approved 2018-2027 State Transportation Improvement Program. The program identifies construction funding for and scheduling of transportation projects at the state level.
