Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Finishes Home In North Carolina

Ty Pennington and the rest of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition team finished up the home for the Friday family in Lincolnton, North Carolina, on Saturday afternoon.

The neighborhood was packed with hundreds of spectators and volunteers for the 6 p.m. reveal.

The emotional Friday family wasn’t only thankful for their new home but the Extreme Makeover’s team also setup a House of Hope in the Friday’s new home.

The Friday’s House of Hope will be a resource for families with foster children. The idea is to provide important items, such as age-appropriate clothing, diapers and toys, on an emergency basis. The organization will also operate as a store where people can donate or purchase items to support the overall mission.

The show and volunteers spent the week stocking the House of Hope with donations from people all across Lincoln County.

Devonda and James Friday have fostered more than 30 children over the years, and have recently adopted five siblings so that the brothers and sisters wouldn’t have to be split up.

A big thanks goes out to the entire Extreme Makeover: Home Edition team, the thousands of volunteers, and Bellamy Homes of Charlotte.

This special of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will air just in time for Christmas of 2012.
