Water Supply Status Update for July 18, 2017

As of Tuesday, July 18, the status of the Hillsborough West Fork Eno Reservoir is the following:

  • Average water use for week ending:
    • July 14 — 1.510 million gallons per day
    • July 7 — 1.476 mgd
    • June 30 — 1.403 mgd
    • June 23 — 1.314 mgd
    • June 16 — 1.414 mgd
    • June 9 — 1.370 mgd
    • June 2 — 1.259 mgd
    • May 26 — 1.426 mgd
    • May 19 — 1.346 mgd
    • May 12 — 1.326 mgd

The West Fork Eno Reservoir is full. The minimum release for July is 1.4 cubic feet per second (628 gallons per minute, 0.905 mgd), which is currently being exceeded by the overflow. At the town’s current water use level, it has approximately 375 days of water supply remaining. The average water use during the last four weeks was 1.426 mgd (a 4.3 percent increase over the previous four-week period). Compared to the same four-week period in 2016, the town is using 9.7 percent more water.

Hillsborough water customers are not currently subject to any water use restrictions. The town is not currently subject to any water withdrawal restrictions.

Lake Orange is currently full.
