Todd Lambert Named City Engineer  

BURLINGTON, NC— The City of Burlington announces the addition of Todd Lambert to its leadership team. Current City Engineer, Lanny Rhew, after ten years of dedicated service will retire October 1st, 2017. Todd will take the helm of the City’s Engineering Department as the City Engineer on September 5, 2017. He joins the City of Burlington as the result of a nation-wide talent search and extensive assessment process.

 

Todd Lambert is a registered professional engineer with over 20 years of progressive experience in engineering design and management. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University. For a majority of his career, Todd has been an engineer in the private sector, assisting clients with project management, design, contract administration, inspections, and certification. He has managed design projects from conception through occupancy, including surveying, design, permitting, construction inspection, project certification, and long-term maintenance.

 

Most recently, Todd held the position of Chief Design Engineer at the City of Greensboro, where he managed a team of professionals responsible for engineering designs and the roadway and utility plan review process. His work at the City of Greensboro includes project management and design work related to roadways, utilities, stormwater, sidewalks, trails, parking lots, specifications, right-of-way, surveying, and estimates.

Of Todd’s appointment, Director of Development & Technical Services Nolan Kirkman said, “Todd brings a solid background in development-related engineering and management, both from the public and private perspective, which will be beneficial to the City in providing a balanced approach to development within our community.”

 

Todd, along with his wife and two children, reside in Burlington where Todd has lived most of his life. Todd has previously served on the Alamance County Planning Board, chairing the board for two years. While not at work, Todd enjoys working with his kids in their athletic endeavors and tinkering with new technology.
