Charlotte Scores Three Runs in Ninth on Five Walks (UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) – The Charlotte Knights dropped the finale of their three-game series against the Toledo Mud Hens by a score of 9-4 on Thursday from BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte. The Mud Hens won two of three games in the series. Down by a score of 9-1, the Knights battled back in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Toledo bullpen and scored three runs with the help of five walks. ECU Baseball Trio Named Valley League All-Stars

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The trio of Nick Barber, Davis Kirkpatrick and Jake Washer have been named 2017 Valley Baseball League All-Stars according to an announcement by the league Monday evening. The event will be held on Sunday, July 9 at James Madison University’s Veterans Memorial Park with a first pitch slated for 7:30 p.m. (ET).   Barber, who plays for the New Market Rebels, is currently batting .309 (25-for-81) on the season with two home runs, 13 RBI and 13 runs scored.
