WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.  – Wake Forest head football coach Dave Clawson led the Deacons through a productive and spirited practice session Monday morning at McCreary Field House on the Wake Forest campus.  Clawson was very pleased with the session.   “We got red zone work in today,” said Clawson.  “When you get to camp, it becomes a daily decision of ‘are you going to get through or get better?’ Today, we got better.   Deacons Participating In All-Star Games

                                                                         WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.  – Three Wake Forest senior football players have been selected to postseason all-star games.   Linebacker Marquel Lee and cornerback Brad Watson will play in the 92nd annual East-West Shrine game on Saturday, Jan. 21 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.  Both will play for the East team.  Brentson Buckner, an assistant coach with the Arizona Cardinals, will be the East team’s head coach.   Rover Thomas Brown participated in the Tropical Bowl in Daytona Beach on Sunday, January 15.  Brown helped lead the National team to a 28-14 win over the American team.  Brown had one pass break-up in the contest.   Brown was the MVP of the Military…

Wake Forest concludes football investigation                                                                          WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.  – Following the Louisville football game on November 12, Wake Forest conducted a thorough investigation to determine if confidential and proprietary game preparation information had been compromised. The investigation was not limited to the situation with Louisville and was comprehensive in nature. The investigation determined the following:   Based on emails, text messages and phone records, Tommy Elrod, a radio announcer for Wake Forest football games, provided or attempted to provide confidential and proprietary game preparations on multiple occasions, starting in 2014. Wake Forest’s Janvion Earns Jim Tatum Award

Demon Deacons’ team captain also excels in the classroom   GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Wake Forest senior safety Ryan Janvion has been named the recipient of the 2016 Jim Tatum Award, ACC Commissioner John Swofford announced Thursday.   The Tatum Award is given annually in memory of the late Jim Tatum to the top senior student-athlete (in athletic eligibility) among the league’s football players. Tatum, a two-time ACC Coach of the Year, coached in the 1950s at both Maryland and North Carolina and believed strongly in the concept of the student-athlete   Janvion will be recognized as the 2016 Jim Tatum Award recipient during this Saturday’s Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium.  …

June 26, 2007  will always be known on the campus of Wake Forest University as the day a beloved coach had his life come to a tragic end.  From there Skip Prosser’s right hand man, Dino Gaudio, took over.  Although he had moderate success with Prosser’s players, there was an obvious need to go in a different direction.
